Meet Chris Sharpe

Team: Altoona Curve
MLB organization: Pittsburgh Pirates
Position: OF
Hometown: Burlington, Mass.
College: UMass Lowell

This is your second full season of professional baseball. How have things gone for you making the in-season move up to the Double-A level for the first time?

“I think the season’s been going great. I was in my first full season last year and got hurt three-quarters of the way through, but I definitely had a lot of ups and downs that I’ve learned from entering this year. I went straight to High-A (Bradenton), where the pace of the game definitely picked up, but I was able to make some adjustments there and pick up some stuff from other players that I could incorporate into my own game. I was lucky enough to come up to Double A at the halfway point. It was one of the biggest things for me, not only playing-wise but watching other guys and how they go about their business on a daily basis. From routines guys have to mechanical adjustments that can help during a game, I try to pick up on little things.”
