The Diamondbacks drafted you in the 34th round this June. What do you remember about that day?
"I knew that I had a shot of getting picked up in the later rounds. I was kind of just waiting around all day. There was actually a reporter (Sam Blum, from the Troy [N.Y.] Record) that followed me around, so a lot of it was getting to know him and taking him through my regular day. I tried to pretend like it was just another normal day, but it wasn’t. I remember being so nervous the whole time. Sam was a really nice guy, so that made it easy. The whole day, I kind of had to just pretend like I knew that I was going to be drafted and have that air of confidence, where inside I was more unsure of how it was going to go. I remember when I actually got drafted, I was at Tony Gentilcore’s gym in Brookline (Mass.) and I was in the middle of a set of front squats, and Sam looks at me and goes, ‘Hey Dan, you might want to check this out,’ so I immediately ran over to my phone and it was blowing up with texts from all my teammates and friends. It was cool."
