MIT obviously is not known as a baseball factory, but you were one of two draft picks from this season’s Engineers. How cool is it to hear that?
"It’s unreal. I think it speaks volumes to the program, where it came from and how much it’s grown over the last 10 or 15 years, that we have the kind of play where we can have multiple players who are draftready in one year and are an impact in professional leagues. It’s so fun too because it’s not like I’m sharing the honor with some random MIT stranger; Austin (Filiere) and I are close friends, and we have a bunch of close friends on the team. It’s definitely a real honor and a really cool experience coming out of the program."
Of course, the other MIT draftee was Austin Filiere, whom the Cubs selected in the seventh round this June. What was it like to see all the success he had, and watch one of your teammates go through that process?
