What is your typical day like prior to a game or practice?
"During the week, a normal game day is a little different because we have class, so I’ll get up in the morning and have breakfast, head to a class or two in the morning, and then head out to the field midday. I like to get out pretty early so I can settle my stuff out, get prepared for the day, and kind of get mentally locked in. We’ll take batting practice. I like to take each round and kind of take a minute just to appreciate the opportunity that I’ve been given. Like I said, that’s just a time to get my mind right. Going into the game, it’s all fun. We like to stay loose, have a lot of fun out there, and play with a lot of energy."
At Fairfield Prep, you played soccer and ran track in addition to numerous other activities such as National Honor Society and the AP Scholars. How much did that experience help prepare you for the rigors and demands of college, especially at an Ivy League school?
