The “back to normal” phase of the pandemic is officially underway in high school baseball.
This spring, there will be no condensed seasons, no post-July 4 championship game, no players driving themselves to games and changing in the parking lot, no locker room closures, and hopefully no last-minute game cancellations due to COVID outbreaks.
For Massachusetts seniors Belmont Hill’s Jack Winnay, Xaverian Brothers’ Matt Brinker and Medfield High School’s Jack Goodman, there is not a lot of ambiguity as to how they feel about their first “normal” season since their freshman year.
They welcome it.
