The MacKinnon family -- mother Danielle, father Tom, daughters Maddie, Emma, Olivia, and son Neil -- are a foster family. They have been taking in newborns and infants for nearly six years, housing a total of 11 children during that span.
Danielle originally suggested the idea of taking in foster children.
"As Danielle put it, 'We had more love to give babies,' and that was a perfect opportunity to share our home with children in need,'' said Tom. "Every single child that we have fostered has brought so much joy to our family. When all six of us are together in the same room spending time with a little one, it means the world to us. As a family, we feel it is very important to give back whenever possible.''
The self-effacing act of kindness brought forth by the MacKinnons is special indeed.
