NEEDHAM, Mass. – The third time – or location – was the charm for Lawrence Academy and Rivers.
Saturday's rain in Central Mass. forced the Spartans and the Red Wings to move first-pitch in the ISL semifinals four times across three separate facilities. What was set to be a 1 p.m. start at Lawrence briefly became a later start at Groton before eventually settling into a 3:30 p.m. first-pitch at St. Sebastian's.
With a slight breeze in their sails and dry turf, the Spartans got to work in a 7-2 win over Rivers, advancing to face Sebs in the ISL championship Sunday at Nobles.
Let's dive into five standouts from the game.
