Auburn, Mass., native Tyler Beede made his MLB debut with the San Francisco Giants on April 10, earning a no-decision in a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. He pitched four innings, allowing three runs and two hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
Beede returned to the mound for the Giants in a matchup against San Diego on April 15 and took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks in 3⅔ innings. He was sent back down to Triple-A Sacramento following that game, as Giants starters Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija returned from injuries.
Beede, a Lawrence Academy alumnus and former Vanderbilt University national champion, has conducted a monthly Q&A with NEBJ since 2014.
