We've made it through the first week-plus of high school baseball in Massachusetts.
While not every team is underway just yet, plenty of programs around the MIAA have kicked their seasons off, and there's plenty to unpack.
Just look at some of the early results around the state so far. You've got Wellesley rolling past Milton in a battle between two key Bay State Conference powers. Meanwhile, Division 3 force St. Mary's knocked off Milton in their opener. Elsewhere, defending Division 1 champ BC High outlasted Chelmsford in a high-powered shootout. In the Hockomock League, Taunton has gotten out to a roaring start through two games.
That's all before the schedule is even in full swing. A quick peak ahead to next week's schedule: there are several matchups to circle on Monday, especially in the Catholic Conference or the Bay State Conference. You've got Weymouth battling Braintree, Walpole against Milton, BC High against Xaverian, St. John's Shrewsbury versus Catholic Memorial and more.
Before any of that, though, here's what we learned from the first week.
