SUDBURY, Mass. – If you missed the first six innings of No. 14 Lincoln-Sudbury's battle with No. 19 Chelmsford in the first round of the MIAA Division 1 tournament, don't worry about it. The seventh inning alone brought more than enough entertainment value, capped off by a walk-off grand slam for Warriors junior Cooper Tarantino for the 7-3 win.
After falling behind in the count, 0-2, Tarantino launched a no-doubter to right-center for his grand slam and the win.
Mahoney finished with five strikeouts and three earned runs on five hits and one walk across 6.2 innings. Jenson Martin earned the win after relieving Mahoney in the top of the seventh.
Stuart went 6.1 innings for Chelmsford, striking out nine and giving up six earned runs on eight hits and two walks.
