
MILTON, Mass. – Weymouth hardly needed any time to get going.
After RBI singles for Devin Kelsch and Ryan Ferguson in the top of the first, the No. 7 Wildcats tacked on two more runs in the top of the second, opening a 4-1 lead behind an RBI double for Will Pratt and a sacrifice fly by Andrew Daley. They never looked back en route to a 6-1 road win over Bay State Conference rival Milton. The win earned Weymouth its second straight BSC Herget Division title in three seasons, improving to 15-5. Milton dropped to 8-9.
Matt Oates tossed a complete game, striking out six and giving up one earned run on five hits. Daley went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a walk, while Ferguson finished with two hits and an RBI. Harry Hinckle led the way for Milton, going 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run and a stolen base. Ryan Kelly got the start on the mound, striking out six and giving up five earned runs on seven hits and five walks across 5⅓ innings.
