We're reaching the midway point of the MIAA season.
We're already starting to keep an eye on the all-important MIAA power rankings. Soon enough, the stretch run and the postseason will be upon us. The brackets will be released on Wednesday, May 29, before the preliminary round of the state tournaments kick off Friday, May 31. Champions will be crowned at Polar Park on Friday, Jun 14, and Saturday, June 15.
So far this season, much like the last few years, Taunton has been among the most formidable forces in the area. BC High and St. John's Shrewsbury are among the favorites, too, as expected. Elsewhere, some teams that might have been overlooked entering the season have certainly wreaked havoc in the early going.
So, which teams and players have been as good as advertised? Who has surprised us? Which questions remain for the stretch run?
