New England Baseball Journal has named Plymouth North senior D.C. Brown as its 2024 MIAA Player of the Year.
Brown led Plymouth North to the Division 2 state title over Walpole, capping off a dominant senior season.
“He's just the horse. I mean, that's all I can say,” Plymouth North coach Dwayne Follette said. “I tell everybody he’s a better kid than he is a player. He's an incredible leader. The kids follow him. We had some great seniors this year, but he’s definitely the one everybody follows.
The Patriot League Keenan Division Most Valuable Player, Brown posted a 6-0 record in the regular season with a 0.50 ERA, a 0.64 WHIP and 70 strikeouts over 42 innings. He held opponents to a .100 batting average and gave up just three earned runs. Offensively, he hit .310 and slashed .414/.534/.949 with 15 RBI and seven runs.
