
Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) baseball teams have returned for preseason practices and scrimmages. The regular season is scheduled to begin in early April.
Over the coming weeks, we will preview some of the conferences that have produced recent champions at the highest levels of the state tournament.
We will start with the Bay State League. Last year, the league produced a D2 state finalist in Walpole. The league also saw Braintree, Wellesley and Weymouth qualify for the D1 state tournament, with Braintree reaching the quarterfinals as a No. 4 seed. Milton fell in the second round of the D2 state tournament, snapping a two-year run as state champion.
