The opening week of the MIAA Tournament served up several compelling storylines, as is the case every year.
A No. 1 seed fell in the Round of 32, as did the No. 1-ranked team in New England Baseball Journal's end-of-regular-season MIAA Top 10. A handful of low seeds have emerged as legitimate state championship contenders in all five divisions.
