While much of the discussion entering the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament revolved around the MIAA Management Committee's unpopular decision put a four-year pause on the popular Division 1 A Super 8 tournament, the tournament has certainly lived up to its reputation of delivering dramatic moments.
Fourteen sectional champions have advanced to the state semifinal round, and four state champions will be crowned before the start of July 4 weekend.
Division 1, 3 and 4 state semifinal games will be played on June 30, with the championship games in those divisions slated for July 2. Because Division 2 has only an Eastern Mass. Division, only one game remains on July 1 to determine the state champion.
