MiLB Notes: Seamus Curran, Grant Lavigne stage meeting of New England mashers

By Craig FordeMay 10, 2019

On Thursday, we featured Agawam, Mass., native Seamus Curran, who is beginning to come around at the plate after a few early struggles. This past Monday, Curran and company were closing out a series versus the Asheville Tourists (Colorado) when Bedford, N.H., product Grant Lavigne, ranked the 4th-best prospect in the Rockies system by MLB.com.

Lavigne jacked a 402-foot first inning solo shot, his second of the season. In the top of the fifth, the Shorebirds slugger returned the favor with a 469-foot blast to tie the game, his sixth on the year.

Asked if the two had an opportunity to chat during the series, Curran chuckled.

“He walks a lot, so we’ve talked a lot," the first baseman noted. "He’s a good guy.”
