The start of the college baseball season has made it clear that New England's MLB Draft Class of 2021 will be particularly strong.
The first two weeks of college season has included performances from homegrown New England natives that certainly got the attention of local scouts and cross-checkers.
In the last edition of New England Baseball Journal, we featured New England's top 20 prospects in the MLB Draft Class of 2020. As a reminder, players born outside of New England are not included in this list, as it consists entirely of players who are native to New England. To clarify, a player is eligible for this list if he grew up in New England and is now playing prep or college baseball outside of New England. But it does not include players who grew up outside of New England and are now playing college ball regionally.
Comparing New England's 2020 and 2021 MLB Draft classes, the 2021 group is considered far stronger at the top.
