Sport lends itself to debate more than baseball. Let pitchers hit? Move the runners over or play for a big inning? Give the batter a green light with a 3-0 count?

Natural grass vs. artificial turf.

As prep schools in the region continue to invest large amounts of money to replace or upgrade athletic facilities, that’s one of the first decisions that needs to be made when it comes to baseball, a decision back-dropped by cost, practicality and future goals.

At Roxbury Latin, a recent campus athletic facilities expansion project created a new turf baseball field, one the school’s five teams began playing on this past spring, to rave reviews.
