With a new academic year heating up, New England Baseball Journal’s look at transfers across all NCAA levels does as well.
Our latest “transfer tracker” post includes a familiar pitcher joining Bryant’s transfer class, a New Englander heading to a recent Division 1 national championship winner, a graduate addition for Assumption, and two Massachusetts products moving from D3 to D1 to complete their careers.
The pandemic and the rise of the NCAA Transfer Portal have created busy offseasons in college baseball. Players opting to go into the portal are not required to transfer or guarantee they will transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. Last summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal, and the trend has continued since.
If you know of a New England transfer -- from any level -- that we have yet to mention, please email the author at [email protected].
