As preparations for the 2022 season began, it didn’t take long for Mike Glavine to recognize what his Northeastern team landed in Babson graduate transfer Jordy Allard.
The Woodstock, Vt., native was dominant as a senior at Babson, going 7-0 with a 0.91 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 49 ⅔ innings en route to earning D3baseball.com All-American and New England Pitcher of the Year honors.
His success for one of the region’s strongest Division 3 programs turned into a major opportunity.
“He’s a supreme strike-thrower with really good stuff, and you just can’t get enough of those guys,” Glavine (Billerica, Mass.) said during his eighth year as Northeastern’s coach. “He pitched in big spots at Babson under a great coaching staff. It really has been one of the most natural fits we’ve had here. He’s talented, he’s a leader for our team. We’re so lucky to have him.”
