The COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of the NCAA Transfer Portal have created busy offseasons in college baseball in recent years. It is no different so far in 2023.
Players opting to go into the portal are not required to transfer or guarantee they will transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. Last summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal, and the trend has continued since.
Our latest “transfer tracker” post includes a local addition to the Boston College pitching staff, as well as four Division 3 standouts who are set to make a graduate move to the highest level of the sport for next season.
