As preparations for another college season continue to heat up this summer, so does New England Baseball Journal’s look at transfers across all NCAA levels.
The return of our local “transfer tracker” posts includes two newcomers to Northeastern, a reliever leaving UConn, an Ivy League captain on the move, and a notable pitcher from the Northeast-10 headed to Division 1.
The pandemic and the rise of the NCAA Transfer Portal have created busy offseasons in college baseball. Players opting to go into the portal are not required to transfer or guarantee they will transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. Last summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal, and the trend has continued.
