With a new academic year heating up, New England Baseball Journal’s look at transfers across all NCAA levels does as well.
Our latest “transfer tracker” post includes another arrival to New England’s newest Division 1 program and newcomers from familiar locales for contending programs at the D2 and D3 levels. We also offer two more grad transfers, one of whom is remaining in his home region.
The pandemic and the rise of the NCAA Transfer Portal have created busy offseasons in college baseball. Players opting to go into the portal are not required to transfer or guarantee they will transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. Last summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal, and the trend has continued since.
If you know of a New England transfer -- from any level -- that we have yet to mention, please email the author at jkummins@baseballjournal.com.
