College baseball rosters are in flux, as MLB draftees and college graduates vacate roster spots and incoming freshmen begin to report to campus. Players in the NCAA Portal are also firming up plans now that they can project their roles on rosters of interest.
Our local “transfer tracker” includes two additions to the Big East champion UConn roster, a former Freshmen All-American leaving Northeastern, and a former All-Ivy first baseman serving as his possible replacement to the Northeastern lineup.
Players that remain in the NCAA Transfer Portal are not required to transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. The summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal.
If you know of a New England transfer — from any level — that we have yet to mention, please email dguttenplan@baseballjournal.com.
