As the summer season heats up in the region, New England Baseball Journal’s look at transfers across all NCAA levels does as well.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of the NCAA Transfer Portal have created busy offseasons in college baseball in recent years. It is no different so far in 2023.
Players opting to go into the portal are not required to transfer or guarantee they will transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. Last summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal, and the trend has continued since.
Our latest “transfer tracker” post includes additions to three of New England’s top Division 1 programs, one of which joins new Boston College head coach Todd Interdonato, as well as two local natives headed south to an ACC power.
If you know of a New England transfer — from any level — that we have yet to mention, please email the author at jkummins@baseballjournal.com.
