As preparations for another college season continue to heat up this summer, New England Baseball Journal’s look at transfers across all NCAA levels does as well.
The latest edition of our “transfer tracker” series includes another addition to the thriving UConn program, an Ivy Leaguer headed to the ACC as a graduate student and movement for prominent programs at the Division 2 and 3 levels.
The pandemic and the rise of the NCAA Transfer Portal have created busy offseasons in college baseball. Players opting to go into the portal are not required to transfer or guarantee they will transfer, but it leaves the door open — and allows other schools’ coaches to speak with them. Last summer began with more than 3,000 players in the portal, and the trend has continued since.
If you know of a New England transfer -- from any level -- that we have yet to mention, please email the author at jkummins@baseballjournal.com.
