Northeast area scouts and cross-checkers are finalizing their lists of 2020 MLB Draft prospects and formulating travel plans for the spring season. The list of New England homegrown talent is not likely to include any first-round talent, but it is laden with players who could move into the top 10 rounds.
Players like Bryant pitcher Tyler Mattison (Fort Ann, N.Y.), and Harvard standouts Buddy Hayward (Plantation, Fla.) and Kieran Shaw (Los Gatos, Calif.) are not included in this list, as it consists of players who are native to New England.
To clarify, a player is eligible for this list if he grew up in New England and is now playing prep or college baseball outside of New England. But it does not include players who grew up outside of New England and are now playing college ball regionally.
Here is a list of New England’s top 20 prospects for the 2020 MLB Draft.
