The calendar flipping to June marks an exciting time for New England baseball fans.
A busy summer collegiate slate continues filling up this week with Tuesday’s start of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) play. The league is set for a 44-game regular season from June 7 through July 30, with teams and games across all six of the region’s states.
For the first time in its 28-year history, the NECBL will feature 14 teams split into three divisions. New to the alignment in 2022 is the Coastal Division, which features the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks, Rhode Island rival Newport Gulls and Ocean State Waves, as well as the North Shore Navigators and Mystic Schooners.
NEBJ previews a new summer of New England League action with team-by-team previews in three parts. The first post covers the Coastal Division.
