While a slugger from outside of the United States was named Player of the Week in the New England Collegiate Baseball League today, there were still plenty of regional players performing well.
A product of Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, Winnipesaukee Muskrats first baseman Po-Hao Huang hit nine home runs and drove in 17 over his last six games to earn NECBL Player of the Week honors and up his season totals to 11 and 20, respectively.
As the month of July kicks into high gear, the Muskrats are still looking up at Valley in the Northern Division standings, while a close race is still brewing in the South as Plymouth, Mystic, Ocean State, and Newport were all separated by 3 ½ games entering Monday.
