The Central New England Prep School Baseball League (CNEPSBL) is starting to draw a close resemblance to college baseball both in quality of play and roster construction.
Buoyed by top-ranked programs like Dexter Southfield, Deerfield Academy, Worcester Academy, and Phillips Andover, the CNEPSBL has become an attractive league for postgraduate prospects who are still looking for D1 offers. While Phillips Exeter and Cushing Academy haven't had the recent postseason success of the other four programs, both schools have D1 prospects and the ability to play competitive league games.
Many top eighth-grade prospects find CNEPSBL programs to be strong four-year options as well. Dexter has four freshmen in the starting lineup this season. Deerfield, Worcester Academy, and Phillips Andover coaches are all excited about the crop of eighth-graders that are committed to join their respective programs next season.
We take stock of the top CNEPSBL programs as well as two Independents for the weekly NEPSAC Report.
