LITTLETON, Mass. — Scott Patterson does not need to be reminded about the parameters he will soon be up against.
Patterson, whose whole life has centered around baseball, recently was named the new head coach at Groton School.
Patterson replaces Glenn DiSarcina, who guided the Zebras for 12 years before opting to step aside at the end of last season. For the past two years, Patterson worked as an assistant under DiSarcina. Upon his decision to depart the Independent School League program, DiSarcina wanted to leave the program in good hands with someone he felt comfortable with.
“I had known Glenn prior to taking the assistant position at Groton,” Patterson said. “The only reason I came here two years ago was because of Glenn. I’m a student of the game, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try and learn from someone who I consider one of the best baseball minds in New England.”
