HAVERHILL, Mass. — Over its magical Super 8 run, North Andover High more than proved it belonged in the MIAA Division 1A tournament, despite barely getting in as the No. 8 seed.
On Tuesday night, the Scarlet Knights proved they were more than a one-man show.
Behind six shutout innings from sophomore pitcher Brendan Holland and three more by senior ace Sebastian Keane, North Andover claimed its first Super 8 championship with a resounding 6-0 victory over St. John’s Prep at a jam-packed Trinity Stadium.
North Andover is the first No. 8 seed to win the Super 8 tournament — a year after seventh-seeded Franklin won the title.
