Oyster River’s Brennan Oxford preps for Wake stint

Brennen Oxford’s coaches knew right away that they had a special talent on their hands.

USA Mavericks coach Dave Hoyt realized it when Oxford began playing for his club teams as a 13-year-old. Hoyt would routinely play Oxford with the older guys due to his incredible instincts on the mound.

"He sees the field, he sees the play, he understands hitters and their approach," Hoyt said. "He gets all of that, and he showed glimpses of it at a very early age."
