Paul Lancisi is Maine’s bat man

Paul Lancisi wanted to make better quality wood bats, so he founded Dove Tail Bats in Shirley, Maine. Now, his company’s bats are making an impact at every level of the sport, including the major leagues.

By Joshua KumminsFebruary 1, 2018

You probably remember watching the Kansas City Royals shatter records on their way to winning the 2015 World Series. However, you probably didn’t know that seven Royals players used New England-made bats to produce 70 percent of the team’s runs scored during that five-game series.

Paul Lancisi has worked hard to ensure that people are starting to notice Dove Tail Bats. And they have. His company has risen up the industry ranks in less than a decade’s time, shipping wood bats to players at all levels of the game from the small town of Shirley, Maine, which is located roughly 100 miles north of the capital city of Augusta.

"I’ve been told by MLB players that the three top-quality companies out there are Victus, Chandler and Dove Tail," said Lancisi, a Worcester, Mass., native. "I take that as a compliment because they’ve been in business a lot longer than we have."
