The latest guest on The Base Path Podcast is starting his 22nd season as the head coach at Babson College, Matt Noone.
In 21 seasons with the Beavers, Noone has won more than 400 games and made seven postseason appearances, including Babson's first trip to the Division 3 College World Series in 2019.
Over the last three seasons, Noone's program has earned a reputation for developing prospects who have gone on to have success at D1 programs. Players like Jordy Allard (Northeastern), Henry Leake (Boston College) and Matt's son, Tim Noone (Duke), have all had success at top-50 D1 programs.
"I think Division 3 is littered with really good players that somehow got passed by or weren't ready," Noone said. "I pride myself here and our coaching staff prides itself on developing guys. We promise them when they come in if they love baseball and they work hard that they're going to reach their potential. All those guys that you mentioned went on and had really good success post-Babson at Division 1.
