Podcast: Matt Feld on MIAA, Nor’Easters founder Tim Daneau on program

The latest edition of The Base Path Podcast has a heavy MIAA theme.

Boston Herald freelancer and Nor'Easters Baseball operations coordinator Matt Feld and Nor'Easters founder Tim Daneau joined host Dan Guttenplan in-studio to size up the current season in Massachusetts high school baseball. Daneau also laid out his philosophy on building one of the largest travel programs in New England -- an organization that currently has more than 50 teams and 600 players.

Feld has seen most of the teams in NEBJ's most recent ranking of the top 10 teams in Massachusetts, and he made state championship predictions in each division.

"I think Franklin is the best team in Division 1," Feld said. "Coming into the year, I thought they were the most complete team. I think Central Catholic's as deep as anyone on the mound from a pitching standpoint. But I think Franklin's lineup is more impressive. Ryan Gerety leads the way for them. He's going to Northeastern, has a tremendous glove in centerfield, is very athletic. Zach Brown's teams are outstanding two-strike hitters, and they've got great power to the opposite field ...
