Nicolas Scillia is in the process of etching his name in Hamden Hall baseball lore, along with eventual college prospects like Dan Carbone (Central Connecticut State University), Cam Maldonado (Northeastern University), Gavin Lyons (Texas A&M University), and Brady Chernovetz (Southern Connecticut State University).
A senior, Scillia, has attended the Hamden, Conn., prep school since fifth grade. He prioritized small, intimate classroom settings, the school's solid academic reputation, and the close-knit community.
A right-handed pitcher, Scillia (Branford, Conn.) posted a 3-1 record last spring, tossing 44 innings. He allowed just 14 earned runs, fanned 43, and finished with a 2.30 ERA. Scillia earned First Team All-Fairchester Athletic Association and All-NEPSAC honors.
With his summer travel club (CT Grind), Scillia was named the MVP Pitcher during the WWBA New England Championships. He also earned All-Tournament honors at the Prospect Select World Championship in Florida. For the entire summer with the CT Grind, Scillia posted an ERA of 0.41.
