Over the past two seasons, Cody Heselton played a significant role in helping the Glastonbury High (Conn.) baseball team reach the CIAC Class LL postseason. In addition, Heselton established himself as one of the Nutmeg State's premier left-handed pitchers.
However, with a new school year upon us, the senior has made the difficult decision to leave Glastonbury, making the hour-long drive northward to his new surroundings at Putnam Science Academy.
Come this spring, PSA will begin its second tour of duty as a NEPSAC program. Last season, under the direction of head coach Bob Hetu, the Mustangs finished their inaugural campaign by going 13-9, including victories over such notable powers as Salisbury School, Winchendon School, and Austin Prep.
With Heselton now on board, he joins a deep and talented pitching corps that also includes Harrison Roy (6-1 record last season), a pair of Central Connecticut State commits in Ian Mihalopoulos and Ryan Ponte, along with junior Jacob Hines, who tossed a no-hitter last season.
