When Chris Powers was handed the keys to the Phillips Andover baseball team in October of 2022, he noticed something special about one of his young right-handed pitchers, Marek Krystofolski. The sophomore exuded a maturity beyond his years.
Since then, Krystofolski's results have matched his maturity. This past season, the junior pitched 30 ⅔ innings, posting a 1.82 ERA, with 36 strikeouts.
Coming to Phillips Andover after playing his eighth-grade season on the varsity at Monomoy High (Harwich, Mass.), Krystofolski was recruited by former coach Kevin Graber, who reached out to him along with father, Jay, and mother, Jennifer, while Marek was playing for the Eastern Mass. All-Stars.
"Andover has been a great experience through all aspects,'' said Krystofolski. "I love being in the dorms with my buddies, and the academic and athletic opportunities it has brought me have been unreal. And now my brother is attending here, so it has been a lot of fun and I am super thankful for it.''
