Early in Charlie Rubel's career at Belmont Hill, he suffered two separate injuries, both of which required surgery.
He broke a bone in his ankle during the fall of his freshman year before suffering a dislocated shoulder as a sophomore. The first surgery required a four-month rehab process, and the second an even longer period to return to throwing.
"There are no lasting effects and zero restrictions or pain," Rubel said.
Standing 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, Rubel '27 is now the catalyst for ISL favorite Belmont Hill. He is also a defensive back on the school's varsity football team. During the summer months, Rubel plays for North East Baseball (NEB), most recently at the Perfect Game WWBA World Championships.
