There is no diminishing the success of the New Hampton School baseball program within the Lakes Region League.
Since 1990, the Huskies have claimed 15 league championships, the last coming in 2018. A year ago, they again reached the title tilt but were upended by St. Paul's School.
When Justin Carey was named head coach, replacing Greg Ladd, last year, the primary objective was to not let the program take a step backward.
"When I took over after Coach Ladd departed, the program was in good shape,'' said Carey. "It has been strong for many years and I am extremely fortunate to head up a program that has experienced great success. My mission is to continue that success and make it even stronger than it has been by changing the culture and bringing a sense of unity and accountability to everyone involved.
