From the moment Brian Rodriguez stepped foot on the Berkshire School campus back in 2013, he was sold. The Yonkers, N.Y., native spent four years at the Sheffield, Mass., institution, savoring every second of it.
"I loved Berkshire from the moment I toured the school,'' said Rodriguez. "The campus is beautiful, and the people here are simply amazing. It is a tight-knit community that will always support you. Even though I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do after college, I knew deep down that I wanted to come back to Berkshire.''
After spending five seasons as a right-handed pitcher at Northeastern University, Rodriguez returned to the Berkshire campus in 2021, serving as a mathematics teacher while assisting alongside his former head baseball coach Jason Gappa.
When Gappa announced he was stepping down following the 2024 season after 24 years at the helm, Rodriguez was the obvious candidate to succeed him. Gappa will remain with the program, serving as an assistant to Rodriguez.
