With the 2022 prep baseball season inching closer, players throughout New England are engaged in their respective annual winter conditioning and skill development as they gear up for the campaign that lies ahead. Many multi-sport athletes are also in the midst of hockey, basketball, wrestling or track seasons -- sports that can also help prepare baseball players for the competition they'll see in the spring.

Many of the returning players on this list have already made significant impacts at the New England prep level. Others will make their mark for the first time.

Over the course of the next several weeks leading up to the spring season, New England Baseball Journal will highlight some of top players at each position.

Here is a preview of the top prep catchers for the 2022 season with comments from each of their coaches.
