Worcester Academy is getting a facelift in a most affluent way.
Thanks to the generosity of New Balance and Worcester Academy alumnus Ron Capozzoli Sr., a commercial real estate developer, the private school will be adding a state-of-the-art turf facility to its existing Morse Field, in addition to a new Capozzoli Athletic Center.
The structures will sit on the newly named New Balance Performance Park. In addition, the site will include the Worcester Academy Performance Center.
For all the student-athletes enrolled at WA and those who will follow, the Capozzoli Athletic Center will serve as a focal point for offseason and in-season training. The athletic center is currently being built on the grounds of the former St. Vincent's Hospital and is slated to open this fall.
