The prep baseball season is heading into the homestretch as most postseason tournaments begin on the weekend of May 20.
That leaves about 10 days for teams to conclude the regular season and firm up seeding for league tournaments.

A pandemic trend that saw more student-athletes transfer to prep schools to reclassify and buy extra time for college recruiting has resulted in an extremely competitive 2023 prep season with elite prospects emerging from dozens of programs.
Here are five observations from the prep season with two weeks left on the schedule.
