As New England Baseball Journal continues in its series of prep league previews, the attention centers around the talented Independent School League (ISL).
The ISL, like other New England prep leagues, is one of the most respected and highly revered conferences in the nation. The competition level among the 16 schools that make up the league is second to none.
Over the years, the ISL has been well founded in its efforts of adhering to a high standard when it comes to preparing and molding young girls and boys into becoming women and men by way of a top level academic regiment, competitive athletics and solid mentorship.
From a baseball standpoint, the league continues to open doors for countless student-athletes seeking the opportunity to attend and play for some of the most prolific academic institutions and collegiate baseball programs in the country. College baseball coaches from coast to coast hold the ISL in the highest esteem when it comes to recruiting practices because they know they are getting a mature, academically sound, well-rounded and highly skilled student-athlete.
