The value of a utility player holds no boundaries. These players play a particular and important role within anyone's organization.
They are not the stars of the team, nor do they receive much in terms of heralded accolades. However, they do fill a vital role that is crucial to any team's success.
Coaches tend to stockpile their rosters with enough of these types of players in an effort to insert them anywhere in the batting order and/or on the field when the situation arises. Their versality to play more than one position only serves as a great endeavor during the course of a season.
