Phillips Andover is the No. 1 team in New England Baseball Journal’s second Prep School Coaches Poll of the 2018 season. Head coaches from around the region were asked to select their top 10 teams from all leagues, producing the following results.
Andover earned 149 total points and six first place votes to take the No. 1 slot for the first time, edging out a Cheshire team that grabbed nine of the remaining 14 first-place votes. Both teams opened their regular-season schedules with victories. Also earning nods for the top spot were St. Sebastian’s, Belmont Hill, Avon Old Farms, and Choate.
The poll will be released each Tuesday during the season here on baseballjournal.com, where a team-by-team preview of the prep season was released in the April issue.
