For the second time in three weeks to begin the 2018 season, Cheshire Academy is the No. 1 team in New England Baseball Journal’s Prep School Coaches Poll. Head coaches from around the region were asked to select their top 10 teams from all leagues, producing the following results.
Cheshire earned 142 total points and seven of this week’s 16 first-place votes to take the No. 1 slot. ISL rivals St. Sebastian’s and Belmont Hill as well as last week’s top team, Phillips Andover, all received more than 100 points and all but two of the remaining first-place votes. This week’s Top 10 included Loomis Chaffee and Canterbury for the first time.
The Prep School Coaches Poll will be released each Tuesday during the season here on baseballjournal.com. This season's previous editions can be found here: #2 - April 10; #1 - April 3.
